This policy explains what Wes Shinn collects when you visit this site, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: the site keeps only what it needs to run, never sells your information, and doesn’t use advertising trackers.

Visits

When you view a page, the site records the page, the website that linked you here, and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself isn’t stored. To count visitors, the site uses a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so a visit can’t be linked to you or followed from one day to the next. No cookies are used for this.

The site also uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits in the same cookie-free way.

Contact form

If you send a message, the site stores your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message, so they can be read and answered. They’re emailed to the site owner through Resend, an email delivery service. If you tick the newsletter box, your name and email are also added to the newsletter list.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, your name and email address are sent to Moosend, the service that sends the newsletter. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask to be removed at any time.

Comments

To comment, you give your first name, last name and email address. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address never is. Your browser remembers your name and email so you don’t have to type them again. You can clear this with your browser’s site data.

Spam protection

Forms on this site may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. Cloudflare may process information about your browser to do this.

Embedded content

Some pages show photo galleries, videos or other content from other sites, such as Pic-Time. Those sites may collect information about you as if you visited them directly, under their own privacy policies.

How long information is kept

Messages, comments and newsletter signups are kept until they’re deleted by the site owner or at your request. Visit records are kept as anonymous counts.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete any information you’ve sent through this site. Use the contact form and say what you’d like done.

This policy may change as the site does. Changes appear on this page.
